I’m a little late to the party (was out of town, off the grid and had no cell reception which was very refreshing!! ) but absolutely wanted to honor my Mom who gave birth to 7 kids (yes you read that right, SEVEN!!), is a solid rock of tremendous faith, an inspiring example of devotion to her family and has such a beautiful strength in her compassion for people! Thank you Momma for all the countless prayers and love you lavish on me!!!
And now that I’m a Mom to our vibrant and adorable Gabriel, I appreciate with greater clarity, what Mothers face day in and day out. Wow…the sheer joy but also sheer exhaustion of motherhood…hahaha…but nothing compares to the most rewarding feeling you feel when your little one calls you ‘Momma’ and the unimaginable, deep love that consumes a Mother’s heart, multiple times throughout the day!! What a gift that I sometimes take for granted but one I’ve desired and prayed for, for years. I just have to say: Thank You Lord for the incredible gift of being a Mom…even when my toddler son has one of his moments and his mom sometimes does as well!!
As I saw all the beautiful pictures of mothers and children honoring their sweet Mommas on FB…I couldn’t help but imagine how the heart of God must be so delighted in seeing, love expressed and honor given! But I also believe His heart is bursting with love and comfort for those who may be grieving the loss of their Mom who has graduated to Heaven or those who have longed to be a Mom but haven’t seen that desire manifest yet. To those broken hearts, I encourage you to lean into the heart of God for you. We may not have all the perfectly packaged answers for the disappointments we face but one thing I do know and will never back down from, is that God is good and He has a good plan for our lives. When we trust in HIS ability to be God and be good, we will see His plan for our lives take shape and redemption take place. As we celebrate and honor Mothers I pray that you will know you are also celebrated and honored for choosing hope, choosing faith and choosing to celebrate others, through pain.
One of my most treasured scriptures and life verses is found in Luke 1:45. This is what was said about the most noble and virtuous Mother of all time, “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.” #CelebrateMom #HonorMom#Gratefulforpromisesfulfilled #PrinceGabrielfinallyshowedup #Believe
