AUGUST 13th
One of the sweetest things about having family nearby is when sisters drop by spontaneously. The other day these two beauties came over and we had an amazing time of sharing joys, tears and coming to the Father, (I mean our Heavenly One hahaha!!) praying together all sprawled up in bed lol!!! It was PRICELESS! I love the quality time shared with these beautiful, resilient and Godly sisters of mine. Then to top it off they help you cook Moringa!! Whoohoo!!!
Speaking of Moringa..have you all heard of the Moringa tree aka Miracle Tree or Tree of Life?
I grew up eating the pods (called drumsticks) and leaves as a child. My mom would put it in Sambar (veg curry) or sauté it with Dahl as a veggie side dish. Moringa is rich in minerals, anti-oxidants and has a high protein density and stock full of vitamins.
It contains four times more Vitamin A or beta-carotene than carrots, seven times more Vitamin C than oranges and four times more calcium than milk. The moringa leaves are said to contain twice the protein present in milk, seven times more potassium than bananas and three times more iron than spinach!! It’s antibacterial, antiviral, anti fungal, and anti-inflammatory.
You can make tea out of dried Moringa leaves or buy some fresh and make a veggie dish. Different parts of the tree, including the leaves, flowers, seeds and even the bark, have each been used to treat different ailments. No wonder it’s called the Tree of Life! #sisterlove #allofmysistersandbrotheraregold #familyloveday #foodismylovelanuage #notapologizingforthat #moringa #superfood #lookitup #finditatyourlocalsouthasianstore #alltheindianauntiessaidamen☺️
