Singing the National Anthem was an opportunity that came out of the blue. Born in India and coming to this country as an immigrant, it was a humble joy and an honor to bring my voice to the field/Dr.Pepper Stadium.
It’s not lost on me that as a country, we’re living in a sobering season and this short post couldn’t begin to articulate all the complexities we’re facing. Especially in times like this it’s important to remember that Christ, is our constant HOPE and the unshakeable ROCK we can cling to! No matter what ethnicity or color we may be, I pray the light, love, truth and freedom experienced in Him, will guide us in these challenging times and teach us to see one another as made in His image.
People, government, and political parties will not make things right. Only the Prince of Peace will. When we believe in Him and live in His peace, we will naturally engage and shine His light in our families and our community in whatever capacity that we are led to. Every day that we’ve been given in our spheres of influence, we get to shine the beacon of God’s heart, through simple and meaningful ways.
1 Peter 2:9 says:
“But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience His marvelous light, and now He claims you as His very own. He did this so that you would broadcast His glorious wonders throughout the world.”
My prayer is that God would take the simple offering of our lives – the adversities, joys, gifts, desires and voices – and through it all, broadcast His glorious wonders to those around us, letting them know they are loved and valuable! Whether that’s taking the time to listen to a waitress or using our gifts out on a field. We each have a voice to raise!
As an immigrant and a citizen of this nation for years, I believe the seeds of prayers prayed and seeded in this land down through countless generations, will be fruitful. It’s glaringly obvious God’s hand is on America and her destiny is far from over!
See you out on the field! 💛
